Strava- if you don’t track it, did it count?

For this blog post I wanted to discuss my favourite running app. Strava!

Strava is an app that tracks your runs/walks/bike rides etc and posts them to share with the running community and your friends. I start my runs on my Apple Watch and when I end them they are transferred to Strava within minutes. You don’t have to post everything- it gives you the option!

All of my runs are tracked on Strava, I LOVE to see my progress as well as cheer my friends on for theirs.

My reason for loving Strava is that it builds a sense of community with runners around you. You can give “kudos” to each other on your posts and run the routes that your friends run. Strava also tracks progress and rewards you with medals for your personal bests.

Strava is accessible as it has a free version and paid version. I have used the free version for years and never felt obliged to purchase the premium version.

Overall, I really enjoy using this app and I feel like it has really helped me on my running journey. It keeps me consistent and allows me to connect with the running community around me. It introduces me to new routes and rewards me for my personal bests! Maybe you’ve been running for years or maybe it’s day 1 of your running journey, I would recommend Strava to everyone who loves running!
